What are neurotoxin injections?

What to expect during your neurotoxin injection?
- Your provider will evaluate your facial muscles and mark the injection sites.
- A topical numbing cream or ice pack may be applied to the injection areas to minimize discomfort.
- You will feel small pinpricks as the neurotoxin is injected into the targeted muscles.
- The entire procedure typically takes 10-20 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.
- You may experience slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites, which should resolve within a few days.
How to care for your skin after your neurotoxin injection?
- Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas for at least 24 hours after your injection.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, or hot tubs for at least 24 hours after your injection.
- Do not lie down or bend over for at least four hours after your injection.
- You can apply cold compresses to the treated areas to reduce swelling or bruising.
- Avoid any other facial treatments for at least two weeks after your injection.
- Be patient and do not expect immediate results, as it may take up to 14 days for the full effects of the neurotoxin to be visible.
When to see results and how to maintain them?
- You should begin to see the initial effects of the neurotoxin within 3-5 days after your injection, with the full results appearing within 10-14 days.
